Choosing a Photographer for Your Wedding

One of the most important choices a bride and groom will make is the selection of their wedding photographer.

There are so many things to decide like the dress, decor, food, music, location, etc. But the choice of your photographer is one of the most important since your pictures will be one of the most lasting and cherished memories from one of life’s major milestones.

We’ve all heard horror stories about photographers creating lousy images, or not producing anything at all. By taking the time to do some research you can be assured of choosing someone who will not only provide outstanding photographs, but who can make you feel great about your choice and remove at least one worry from an event filled with stresses.

If any of your friends have gotten married in recent years . Why not ask them who shot their wedding and look at their wedding pictures to see how the photographer did. You’ll likely get some good references this way, so contact the photographers who did a great job for your friends.

It also pays to do some research yourself. Do an internet search for photographers in your area - here in the capital city of Alberta Canada, you would search for Edmonton Wedding Photographers. You can also do a search for something like Edmonton photography. Either way, you’ll get hundreds of results, so look at those shown on the first few pages. When you visit the different websites, you’ll get a feel for each photographer’s style. Send an email to those who stand out. Their response is a good indication of how professional they are. Are the replies professional and clearly written? Have they provided any other examples or references?

Next, make appointments with those who create the sytle of photography you want and who are in your budget. When you meet with the photographer, they’ll show you sample pictures and albums. How they treat you at this stage is a good example of what you can expect at your wedding. Are they friendly, or are they condescending? Do they seem warm, or are you uncomfortable working with them?

The photographer will have an agreement for you to review. Take your time to read it, as it outlines what is expected of you and them. The agreement is for your benefit, too. While it commits you to pay them, it also commits the photographer to provide the services you have discussed.

Here are a few other thoughts that should help your photographer get the best photographs during your wedding:

1. Create a list of the most important photos you want and give it to the photographer before the wedding.

2. Make sure you know WHO is going to photograph your wedding. If the main photographer isn’t going to be the actual photographer at your wedding, find out who will - and ask to see their personal portfolio before you commit to anything.

3. Assign a family member or close friend to be the photographer’s liason who can point out all the important family members who you want to be sure to get pictures of.

4. Ask the photographer to attend the rehearsal so they will be familiar with where they can get the best shots without getting in the way.

5. Pre-plan where the formal and informal photographs will be taken.

6. Find out if the photographer provides finished prints, albums, thank-you cards and similar services after the wedding. A professional photographer can provide these additional services that will enhance your wedding day memories and many photographers have excellent resources for these items that are of higher quality than the public can get.

By following these suggestions you won’t have to worry about your photographer. You’ll be able to enjoy your wedding day with the knowledge that you’ll have many memorable images from your wedding day to enjoy for the rest of your life.

Identifying a Need from a Want

Running with a cycle of debt every month is certainly not fun. With barely enough money to live from your payday until the next month, you are certainly getting a bit stressed right now. With no money left to put into your savings account, you know you are hanging at the edge of the cliff.

The simple principle to help you get off this situation is to end your debts once and for all. How to stop it? Track your expenses and avoid spending more to get further in debt.

The question right now is how to learn to modify your current lifestyle. When it comes to the behavior with spending money, you must be conscious in allocating more of your paycheck for your bills. You should do this at the moment you receive your paycheck. In short, it is the first priority, not the last where you only pay with what is left.

Learn to live with a budget. With the awareness that you earn a limited income, you must spend with a limitation too. Be conscious to buy only what you need. A need is different from a want. This is illustrated in this example: if you went shopping and see along the way an $80 handbag, your impulse tells you to buy this with credit card since it has a 20% discount. With consciousness in your budget, however, you will just walk on by and resist that purchase.

The handbag is just a want, not necessary a need. After all, you don’t really need them now and can set that aside until the time comes when you are already debt free.

Learning to distinguish between a want and a need is just one of the many things you should tweak in your spending habits. After all, your journey to being debt free is a learning process. A hard learning process you will never forget.

Try to put forums first to gain knowledge about your customers about their wants and needs and target those wants and needs.

Creating an effective email list is like being a surgeon conducting an operation… Don’t be like the rest and get a reputation for awful plastic surgery. Make sure to know what your doing from the start, create a plan and test it slowly, when it provides results just improve upon what you are already doing!
