Picking A Perfume

There are hundreds of perfumes to choose from and they are priced anywhere from a few dollars to a hundred dollars or more. With so many choices, how do you know which ones are right for you?

There are a few guidelines that can help you choose which perfume is right for you. First you will need to find out which type of perfume will fit you the best.

Look at the ingredients on the bottle before you buy. You need to analyze what type of scent you want to get out of perfume; a light musk, natural scent, loud fragrance, floral scent, warm scent, bright cheerful scent, and more.

Your body chemistry might play a roll in your selection as well. Sometime what smells great on one person may not smell as good on another.

Perfumes that are natural tend smell warm and soft, such as Rose or Lavender. Musk can produce a light fragrance that lingers softly around you. It is not too strong and may be pleasant to smell.

There are stronger scents that you may like and that is fine too. If you don’t like a loud smell but you like the perfume, try using a minimal amount or spray your clothing instead of your body.

The material helps to absorb the fragrance leaving a lighter version to smell. Choosing the right perfume for you may take some time. Stop and smell different fragrances to find the right one for you. Once you find one you like, it will be worth all your time and effort.

American girl doll shopping for kids and adults

I want to be sure to find the best deals on American Girl Doll Clothes. I love shopping for american girl clothes for my daughter.  We get such a kick out of looking at all of the different styles and colors. It is so much fun.  It is really cute when you can get matching outfits for you and your daughter.  My daughter got the matching pajama set with slippers. How cute was this? Talk about some really cute pictures. I must say that this will really create some fond memories to look back on later in life.

Now, my daughter wants another American Girl Doll.  Oh boy, this little hobby of hers is getting expensive. This brings up the point of finding good bargains for all of your American girl clothesand accessories. You really need to go online and do some quick searches and you will see all sorts of deals.  I just go through the top ten or so and see what kind of specials or sales are going on.

There is always something new coming out with American girl stuff. It is hard to keep up with all of it. This is a very fun hobby but you just have to be careful not to break the bank with it. Overall I have to say that this hobby is very rewarding and can really teach some wholesome life lessons to young girls. This is why I will stick with this hobby for as long as my daughter continues to enjoy it.

Turning Japanese - Japanese Customs

Do you want to go on an electronics shopping spree while eating all the sushi you’ve always dreamed of? If so, a trip to Japan is in order. Before you pack your bags, though, make sure you take some time to learn the basic Japanese customs first, so you can fit in and have a more enjoyable trip.

Respect is one of the most important values in Japanese culture, which is instilled in children from a very tender age. One way of showing this is by bowing. There are different types of bows, depending on the person you are talking to and the situation. If you just happen to talk to a Japanese, a short, fifteen-degree angle bow should do. However, make sure to bow longer and deeper when apologizing or in front of someone superior.

Also, when talking to someone, make sure you use his or her last name, along with the suffix -san or -sama (if you want to be more respectful), since first names are only reserved for close friends and family members. It is also important to greet others sincerely, if not, energetically, such as saying good morning (ohayo gozaimasu), good day (konnichiwa), good evening (konbanwa) or good night (oyasuminasai). Remember to say goodbye (sayounara or jyaa ne) before parting ways with someone, as well.

Removing your shoes upon entering a home or most business establishments is also one of the most popular Japanese customs. After taking them off, place them on the rack provided or beside the others with the toe facing the door. House slippers are usually provided so wear these, but remember to take them off before stepping onto a tatami mat.

Do you know how to use chopsticks? If not, you better learn before making your trip to Japan, not just so you can enjoy Japanese food better but so you can avoid being stared at when you are in a Japanese restaurant. Just buy your own set, which shouldn’t be hard to find, learn the right method and keep on practicing. While you’re at it, make sure you keep in mind not to leave your chopsticks sticking out of a rice bowl, as well, since this is considered extremely rude.

After mastering the use of chopsticks, you can now move on to table manners, which are also important Japanese customs. If you are offered an oshibori or wet towel before eating, use this to wipe your hands only, not your mouth, face or neck, then set it aside. Make sure you say ‘itadakimasu’, as well, which is the Japanese equivalent of ‘Bon appetit’. Make sure you clear your plate and don’t be afraid to slurp while eating your noodles since this is acceptable in Japanese culture.

If you are eating in a Japanese restaurant, place your payment on the small tray provided once you are done. Never hand the payment directly to the waitress or cashier. The same is true in most stores. Also, you’ll be happy to know that tipping is not one of the Japanese customs so you can just pay whatever price is indicated without feeling guilty or worrying about being stared at. On the contrary, people will stare at you when you leave a tip since this is viewed as an insult.

Aside from getting your fill of Japanese cuisine, it’s also a great idea to go to an onsen or a hot spring during your trip to Japan so you can relax and refresh your mind and body. There are Japanese customs to observe when bathing, too. For one, keep in mind that onsens and public baths are technically not for bathing, but for soaking, so wash and rinse before getting into the water. Also, take care not to dirty the water in any way. Although you may still receive stares because you are a foreigner, at least, they will be stares of curiosity or even awe, rather than rude ones.
