What every patient should know about acid reflux

I bet that you are frustrated over the different type of treatments that you have tried for acid reflux. This is perfectly understandable as most medications available on the market treat only the symptoms of acid reflux and not the causes. This is the main reason why you do not have any long lasting result for this problem. However there are some small tips that exist in order to help you deal with the causes of acid reflux and help you feel better in the long run.

It may be a good thing that you change your dinning time. You should make it a point not to sleep at least three hours after dinner. This will reduce the risk of acid coming from your stomach into your throat. Consuming spicy and acidic food can also exacerbate the problem.

It can also be useful for you to consume food in smaller portions frequently rather than a big portion in one go. Instead of going for the three big meals as we have been taught previously we should go for five or six smaller portions scattered throughout the day. Indeed taking a large meal may cause your stomach to expand and hence increase the risk of acid reflux.

Another important factor related to acid reflux is stress. It is important that you learn how to relax and how to get rid of negative thoughts if you want to get rid of acid reflux. It is a fact today that people do not even have time to eat properly let alone prepare something healthy. As a result people go for fast food which is full of fat and spices and that cause an exacerbation of the symptoms. Do take your time to eat and chew properly as this will facilitate the digestion process. Make sure that you take some time off to eat properly and do not eat at your office desk.

Acid reflux is a condition that can be quite uncomfortable for some people. If you have these symptoms while you are sleeping or experience some hoarseness when you wake up in the morning you should know what I am talking about. Fortunately there are some simple things that can be helpful as mentioned above. Sometime a change in your lifestyle can really carry some benefit in your life and may be worth considering.

9 Tips on how to think positive thoughts and succeed in your life.

Virtually all of us start out as children with a positive outlook. As we get older and experience life it’s all too easy to slip into negative thoughts and accept negative outcomes as the norm. This is a guarantee for an unhappy, unsuccessful life. You can beat these negative thoughts, turn them to positive and thrive. Here are 9 tips to help you achieve it.

Look after yourself - Eat healthily, in sensible sized portions with regular exercise and enough sleep each night.

Don’t lose track of the good things - It’s easy to focus on the bad things and to forget the good things in your life. Remind yourself each day and remember them.

Stop making assumptions - It’s a shock to most of us to realise the world doesn’t revolve around us. Someone’s’ bad mood may not have been caused by you. People may not be gossiping about you. If you think they are, ask them.

Don’t use absolutes - Always and never are harsh words combined with a negative sentiment such as you’re always late. Using absolutes makes things seem worse than they are.

Ignore negative thoughts - They creep into your head all the time. Don’t knock yourself out about them, just ignore them and move your thoughts on.

Be a glass half full type - Don’t apply negative reactions to every situation. If your boss wants to see you, it doesn’t mean you’re in trouble. If your partner is unhappy it isn’t automatically your fault. Mentally squash these thought when they occur.

Don’t ignore family and friends - Give your husband or wife a hug everyday. Give your children lots of hugs everyday. Don’t physically isolate yourself and if needs be buy a pet.

Be more active with hobbies and interests. Join clubs or societies to meet and talk with other people.

Stop going over things in fine detail - over analysing is not useful. You almost always pick a negative topic and go down the negative route. Break the process by immediately doing something different like going for a walk, read a book, do some cooking.

A positive mental outlook helps all areas of your life particularly financial. Consider 0 credit cards to save some money or 0 balance transfer credit cards to regain control of your debts. Maybe you want to earn while you spend using credit cards with rewards which often give you cashback each month.
