Saturn Sky
Saturn Sky surely makes a surprising differentiation from the traditional Saturn car concept: we are talking about the first sports car in the division with an immense market success. Saturn Sky is a very new brand in the Saturn family, even if it shares some of its features with Pontiac Solstice and Opel GT: this is the case with the Kappa automobile platform that is present with all the three GM designs.
Saturn Sky comes with 18 inch wheels and two forms of motorization: you can go for the 177 horsepower Ecotec LE5 engine or the turbocharged one that creates no less than 260 horsepower. Further on, Saturn Sky brings two types of transmission, manual and automatic, and this difference reflects in the price of the vehicles too. The model produced in the Red Line is surely more expensive with a price of about $30,000; yet the five speed automatic variant is almost $5,000 cheaper.
What does the Red Line bring new in the Saturn Sky model? There is a better suspension over the average quality present with the basic Saturn Sky model, plus, the stability control is also upgraded. Dual exhausts, unique leather design in the interior with a digital control system doubled by a modern tachometer represent just a few other features of the Saturn Sky luxury variant available since the end of 2006. For customers who’d like to make changes and enhance one element or another, dealers have add-on offers, and the most common example here is the suspension upgrade.
Conversions of the Saturn Sky into more powerful vehicles is well accomplished by Mallet Cars, Ohio who have registered exceptional results with the adjustment of the car with a V8 engine. Thus the horsepower outcome is not lower than 400 with the turbocharged models going way beyond 750 horsepower. The torque or the brakes are other Saturn Sky parts that can undergo various configurations either custom-made or not.
Last but not least, Saturn Sky has been subjected to electric conversions, or at least tests are in progress in that direction by teams interested in making it more profitable as a fuel-free vehicle. No fuel consume, but the same great feeling a sports car gives? That really sounds awesome!. It goes without saying that a V8 Saturn Sky engine has a high gas consume, which is surely alarming for environmentalists. With the ever stricter necessity to use the planet resources wisely, time may come when fuel-powered engines be banned from car production.

Saturn Vue
The SUV produced by General Motors, called Saturn Vue was the best-sold Saturn car until the summer of 2008 when the launch of the Aura model led to a sales drop. Saturn Vue is a pioneer in the automative industry as the first vehicle to be equipped with a GM Theta platform. Several Saturn Vue generations are presently available on the market, and people can purchase them either directly from authorized representations or through auctions and classifieds as second-hand cars. When it comes to design, Saturn Vue is not that unique as it shares its unitary platform structure with other cars like Chevrolet Equinox, Opel Antara and Pontiac Torrent.
The technical concept of four cylinders was replaced by the six-cylinder pattern which also brought an improvement in terms of horsepower. The 4-cylinder Saturn Vue cars were made until 2005 when General Motors made the decision to direct their creative efforts towards designing powerful vehicles. Another modification took place in 2006 when Saturn Vue got a face-lift and considerable upgrades in quality standards of the inside. Thus, besides the cosmetic touches that were also given a bit more attention, the quality of the production was significantly increased. From then on, automatic headlights and cruise control became standard in Saturn Vue models.
Moreover, General Motors decided to produce Saturn Vue cars as part of two other distinct lines: the red line and the green line. The former is designed for high performance with improved horsepower and includes sportier features; moreover, the seats covered in leatehr, the modern visual panel, the the increased comfort by means of front bumpers and the special audio system integrate this Saturn Vue design in the range called luxurious. Then, it is no wonder that the fuel consume gets bigger than with the average Saturn SUV, which also justifies for a higher price.
The green Saturn Vue depends on a normal engine that is assisted by an electrical motor, and the results for the environment are remarkable with the limited fuel consume. The electrical motor is in charge of the stops and restarts of the car; it also has the great quality of eliminating noise not just excessive gas consume. Up to now, a 20% saving has been measured on the average, but on the long run the initial investment is worth analyzing. The only problem with the Saturn Vue hybrid design is the high price as compared to regular vehicles. Even if in time one gets repaid by the low fuel consume, the financial effort of the purchase remains a reality for the average buyer.
