Easy Custom Labels for Your Medications

I am married and 65 years young. I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Drexel University and worked for over 35 years as an IT (Information Technology) Consultant in my own company, Odyssey Data Systems, Inc. My IT background gave me the skills to analyze and solve many complex business problems.

As I grew older, I found that both my wife and I began taking more and more medications and vitamins. Some were brand names and others were generic versions. Some were marked “Take as needed”, meaning that they stayed in the medicine cabinet until they expired (really forever). Others started as brand names and once they were refilled, became generic versions (the names of which were almost indistinguishable). All pharmacy labels showed what was in the bottle, how much to take and how often; but hardly ever indicated what the medications or vitamins were to be used for.

In addition, whenever we saw a new doctor, he or she always wanted to know what medications we were currently taking. So, we gathered the bottles and tubes, put them in a bag and diligently carried them to the initial consultation. Of course, we then had to return them to the proper location in our medicine cabinet, so as not to be further confused.

If, god-forbid, we needed to see a new doctor in an emergency, that vital information was not immediately available, therefore being extremely dangerous. Well, fully realizing that we were not the only people to have these problems, I began the project of solving them with a type of medication identification help. I then formed my new company - Labels-4-Meds, LLC, in September of 2007.

The premise was simple - develop a web site to permit people to customize and purchase small, but extremely distinguishable medication labels and vitamin labels. Each medication sticker would contain a particular shape in a particular color (like a red heart) to have immediate and special meaning to the individual (like my wife’s heart medication). In addition, the person could customize the word or words to print on the label, in bold black letters (like Blood Pressure), to clearly indicate the medication’s or vitamin’s usage.

Since the information about the medication or vitamin had to be entered to identify the particular label, then a secondary benefit resulted; that being an index sheet which listed all the medications and vitamins, their color, shape, usage word(s) and optionally: their brand or generic name and dosage.

This was all done inexpensively with lots of documentation, examples and step-by-step instructions. There is obviously much more to this, than is necessary in this brief introduction. If you, your parents, your neighbor or your patient could benefit by helping them to be less confused about their medications, then please look us up on-line at Labels4Meds.com .

Do Yeast Infections Occur in Men?

When we think of yeast infection we always seem to think of women, not yeast infections men. But many men do suffer from yeast infection, sometimes multiple infections throughout their lives. Yeast infections occur in men for the same reasons they do in women. In many cases it can occur from having unprotected intercourse with a woman who also has the condition.

Do Women Get Yeast Infections from Men?

A 2003 study finds that the presence of yeast in men does not make women more prone to recurrent yeast infections. But certain sex acts might. If either one of the partners in a sexual relationship have this fungus growing on their body, then there is a good chance that the fungus will be passed from partner to partner. This problem may continue and continue unless both partners and all infected partners involved have the yeast infection problem destroyed.

What Are The Symptoms of Yeast Infections Men?

Because there is a low level of awareness among men, and because the infection can be present without any clear symptoms, many men are totally unaware that they have it, and could be passing it to their sexual partners. So yeast infection in men is a very serious issue, not to be taken lightly. So how do you know if you have a yeast infection? If you have any of the following symptoms, then it is very likely you have the condition: irritation, itching, small discharges, foreskin sores, discomfort during sex, and a white cheese-like matter. It can also cause itching and dryness on your skin.

How Do You Treat Yeast Infections Men?

Knowledge and understanding of the causes, symptoms and cures of this ailment will surely be useful in treating it, and better yet, in preventing it altogether. Men must come to terms with the reality that yeast infection is as much a man’s problem as it is a woman’s problem.

There are various over-the-counter medications which may help, such as clotrimazale (gyno-lotrimin), oral diflucan and montistat. More natural remedies have proven to be very popular, such as yogurt, garlic, aloe vera, oregano oil, and tea tree oil. Although with men the cream based medications tend to wipe off in their underwear. The creams can still work, it is just a little trickier to keep it on the skin.

Online Buying Tips for the Beginner

The internet has opened a lot of opportunities for people around the globe. Nowadays, you can easily get virtually anything in a matter of days without the troubleor extra effort of searching for items that seem more like a treasure hunt. There are also a number of things you need to be cautious about online. Several dishonest individuals are waiting for opportunities to get more out of the newbie. Here are some tips to stay safe.

1. Search the right places
There are now thousands of web sites on the internet where you can get anywhere from shoes to chandeliers to collectible mantel clocks. Multiplesites will also offer various features, prices and quality depending on your taste and their expertise. Check the background of the web site first and determine if it is worthwhile to invest in. Read the content and look for previous client reviews to find out how they do business. It is also recommended that you ask for sources from people you know who have actually ordered. This way, you can measure the advantages and disadvantages.

A good web site to buy from includes customer services wherein you can ask questions and raise all your concerns. You will most likely communicatewith some via email or the telephone. Make sure that source is reliable by asking for certification as well, especially if you’re looking for medications and other expensive items like unique wall clocks.

2. How to Pay
Determine the method of payment when purchasing. Ask how the goodswill be delivered and if the web site offers any guarantee should the items become damaged during shipping. Ask about the shipping company and the number of days you should expect the package to arrive. Some of the most common payment methods include money transfer, credit card and PayPal. Setting up a PayPal account is very easy and allows you to purchase from several reliable sources quickly, with extra protection on your money.

3. Quality Matters
Make sure that you are getting the presentitem you see on the internet. You may ask for more details about the product, as well as extra photos to ensure that the quality is right and that the goods are in perfect condition. I make it a point to ensure at least a 30-day warranty for almost any item I bought. I collect nautical table clocks which is why I have to get every single one in flawless condition. The price may be higher but at least I can be certain that the goods are authentic.

4. Personal Information
Get the completename of the seller. Watch out for signs of unscrupulous activity such as hesitance in the part of the seller to provide full information about himself. It is also a red flag if the seller cannot say much about the product or gives you wrong information. Do your research by studying the items and comparing the details with the ones the site is giving you.
