After undertaking the IOSH Supervising Safely course

Candidates should be able to:

  • Understanding of legal duties, responsibilities and requirements;
  • Understanding of the process and practical application of risk assessment;
  • Understanding of legal requirements, establish and maintain safe systems of work;
  • Be able to carry out accident reporting, investigation, and an overview of RIDDOR and the human, moral, financial costs of accidents;
  • Understanding of human factors; attitude, personality, motivation, the potential and prevention of human error;
  • Be able to monitor the safety policy, arrangements and procedures.

Safety Passport - what you need to know

The national safety passport is basicially the same as the CCNSG National Cours it is valid for three years from the date of the course and covers the following:

  • Safe Behaviour at work
  • Safe place of work
  • Safe systems of work
  • Safe problems and safe solutions

This national safety passport course is delivered via USB Pen/stick. ‘Just plug it in and follow the instructions’ Once complete the candidate will be given a certificate and will be entered on a globally accessible database. If you have successfully taken the course, your employer can attain confirmation in seconds. Protect Life is a health, safety and protective (HSP) super store, that offers Safety Passport training. Most HSP superstores have training functions/departments that offer 4 primary training services which usually can deliver locally, nationally or internationally:

  • Set achievable safety & health objectives & plan & implement courses of action to achieve those objectives.
  • Recognise safety & health hazards present in the workplace.
  • Carry out & record basic assessments of the risks associated with workplace hazards, & recommend suitable control measures.
  • Take account of risks arising from ergonomic factors.
  • Ensure that adequate information, training & supervision is provided for employees.
  • Investigate an accident or incident involving injury or damage to determine the causes & take appropriate actions.
