Backlinks Made Simple - Get More Traffic

Generating an awesome website is just the beginning to having an Internet presence. If no-one can find your site when searching then you may as well not spend any time making your website.

One of the most important things that you can do to have an effective web presence is have other web sites link to it. Typically, there are 2 types of backlinks, One-way and Reciprocal. Both are easy and effective strategies to building site visitors but one is much more effective than the other - One-Way backlinks.

Reciprocal links are when you link to a web site and that site also links back to you. This was a common type of linking a few years ago and is still commonly used. Often times site owners get great traffic by using in a link exchange service or system built just for reciprocal backlinks. A link exchange is a group of website owners that exchange links with each other.

One-way links are mearly a link to your website from another site without the exchange. Sometimes you may agree to exchange backlinks to different web sites which is referred to as an n-way link exchange. This type of linking is considered by most experts to be more valuable than reciprocal links. Google actually prefers this type of linking over reciprocal linking. However, it is very difficult to get a one-way link. There are three main strategies for getting one-way links: submit your website to directories, give away something needed that includes your link, pay for a link on someone else’s high ranking page.

1. Creating inbound links by submitting your site to directories or directory submissions is normally free unless you choose to upgrade. Directories are special sites that list other websites that visitors may be interested in and are often hand edited so they have some additional authoritative weight in the search engine formulas. There are software programs that can help with the mundane procedure of filling out directory web forms. One of the least expensive is Directory Site Submitter.

Directory Site Submitter will let you create and manage multiple projects with multiple sites per project and then help you submit to over 400 free directories. The links from these websites will be important for SEO reasons more than actual traffic.

2. One of the best solutions is to give away something valuable that includes your link. Articles are very common since so many website owners need site content. They are cheap to produce and can be effective at building one-way links to your site.

3. Steer clear of buying links on sites for SEO purposes. It can cost up to $100 a month or more to put your link on a high ranked site and it still may not count in the search engine formula. Google has frequently said that purchasing direct links will not be of value for SEO. However, you might still use this technique to drive visitors from a high traffic site to your site.

The truth of the matter is that if you are trying to build long term income, it is going to take a while before your web site becomes profitable. A long term strategy for a site might take six months or even a year for it to start generating income. It is also essential to start building back links right away. Choose your links carefully. Verify that you are not getting links from low level web sites, scraper websites or links from bad neighborhoods.

Remember, in today’s competitive Internet environment, if you would like a successful web site then you have to do at least as much or more SEO than the websites on the first page of search engine results.

Information about SSL certs for business.

SSL Certificates were created to validate the genuineness of a web site because it is so easy to counterfeit a business on the web. In 1995, when they were invented, a standard SSL certs provided adequate protection for consumers. SSL certs secure your website and protect transactional data. Need a secure logon for your site or online store? SSL certificates must be signed by a trusted authority or more commonly known as Certificate Authorities (CA). CA’s confirm your identity by adding their signature to your SSL certs.SSL Certificates bind an identity to a pair of electronic keys that are used to encrypt and decipher digital information. A public key encrypts the information, whereas a private key decrypts the information.

Security remains a moving target, however, as researchers have also started to find weaknesses in SHA1. Although there are no attacks as advanced as those against MD5, it is likely that SHA1 will also be increasingly threatened by collision attacks as research in this area continues. Secure Sockets Layer, SSL, is the standard security technology for creating an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between our web server and your browser remains private and secure. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology protects your Web site and makes it easy for customers to trust you. SSL creates an encrypted link between a web server and a web browser to ensure that all data transmitted remains private and secure.

Certs can be reissued as needed in development situations. Certs may need to be reissued when upgrading or changing server software or operating platform; if migrating your site from one server to another, or if an existing private key has been lost, destroyed or otherwise inadvertently overwritten. After re-validating certificate information online, the new cert is issued immediately and is valid from the date of reissue until the original expiration date. Certs are issued by certificate authorities (CAs), which are either trusted because they are a top-level, or root, authority or because they have been granted the ability to issue certificates by a root CA. All Web browsers maintain a list of trusted root certificate authorities as a way to verify certs issued by those CAs.

Web servers have been built to support it and web browsers have been built to use it. SSL provides the ability to secure customers transactions transparently without the customer having to do a thing! Web server certs (also known as secure server certificates or SSL certificates) are required to initialize an SSL session.
